RehabiMed in the Congress on abandoned villages

Between the 7th and 9th of November 2018, the Department of Heritage, Architecture and Urbanism of the Mediterranean University of Reggio Calabria, has organized the “Un paese ci vuole” Congress. Studies and perspectives for abandoned or depopulated small towns. A great success of participation, with more than 200 participants from more than 10 different countries, has allowed to know a great number of experiences of great quality.

RehabiMed, has been present with Xavier Casanovas as a member of the Scientific Committee and with the presentation of the works carried out with the workshops developed in the Aures region, in Algeria, where the theme of the abandoned villages and the landscape surrounding them presents a special protagonism, with the great challenge of its preservation. The key role of universities, for the documentation, analysis and development of innovative proposals, was one of the main conclusions of the Congress.
