| Introduction |
The fundamental aim of the Rehabimed project in the framework of the European Euromed Heritage programme is to promote the rehabilitation of traditional architecture in all Mediterranean countries. We consider this the way forward to sustainable development.
Rehabilitation is not a simple discipline; there are many ways of entering it and a whole variety of agents are involved. It addresses the different scales, from the territorial and urban to the scale of the building, in each case adapting to the applicable instruments or techniques of intervention. We are dealing with a rich and varied discipline that calls for a holistic approach and multidisciplinary work teams.
We at RehabiMed hope to launch a forum for debate in which all areas and sectors feel themselves to be represented and can present their opinions about and experiences in the rehabilitation of traditional architecture in Mediterranean countries. We are therefore publishing this extensive call for papers for the First Euro-Mediterranean Regional Conference: TRADITIONAL MEDITERRANEAN ARCHITECTURE. PRESENT AND FUTURE.
